Do my friends need an account?
Yes — joining a room needs a free account and the Syncync Chrome extension. The invite link walks them through it in a minute.
What do I need to use it?
Google Chrome (or a Chromium browser like Edge or Brave) on a desktop or laptop, plus the Syncync extension. No mobile app yet.
Who controls playback?
Anyone can. Play, pause, or skip and everyone stays on the same frame — and every action shows who did it. Switch the video and friends get a friendly “follow?” nudge.
Does it work with Netflix?
Yep — Netflix and YouTube today. Syncync drives the site’s own player, so Netflix playback stays protected and perfectly in sync. More services are on the way.
